Maskerade: the Movie

We've been investigating a whole range of locations to find places perfect for Maskerade. There are a lot of varied settings contained in the book, from the jagged peaks of Lancre and the Ramtops, to the Opera House, a building described as basically a square box with far too much architecture stuck on afterwards, to it's plush yet tawdry interior, taking the wide vistas and narrow alleys of Ankh-Morpork along for the ride too.

We've got a venue for much of the Opera House interior, the Players Theatre in London:

And a model for Granny's house - a crofters cottage in Sweden (worse luck):

Granny's Hosue

We're looking into space on the London Underground for the cellars underneath the Opera.

Joy Green has suggested using National Trust villages to shoot countryside scenes in, as they are unspoilt by tv aerials, pylons, etc. One such is Lacock in Wiltshire.

For the rest we tend to take full of advantage of the UK's varied landscapes, and also of our CGI expert, who's very good at that sort of thing.
